Estate vintage jewelry: 10K gold Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health Shield set in 10K gold with 18 x1mm diamonds, on a 16 inch serpentine 14K gold chain 1.2 mm in diameter. The piece was originally a  pin, owned by Dr Bruce Dawson Forsyth,  Former Asst. Surgeon General, and Chief of the Division of Dentistry of the US Public Health Service. The back of the shield is stamped 10K gold and  "BDF  1954".  Dr. Forsyth was deeply committed to children's dental health and was a staunch advocate of fluoridation of the nation's water supply. Dr. Forsyth had a dental office in the White House during the Truman administration and took care of the dental needs of the first family. Dr. Forsyth's wife transformed the pin into a pendant and added the diamonds and proudly wore the pendant in loving memory of her husband. Some of the 1 mm diamonds are full cut, some single cut.
